This picture pretty much sums it up!  I bake therefore I run! I just completed my first half marathon in January!  I trained with my mom and sister in law 3 days a week for 9 months!  It was such a great experience, we trained together, raced together and crossed the finish line together!  It was hard and pretty painful but all worth it!  I could not have finished it without them by my side!

My First Furniture Redo!

I have been inspired by seeing the amazing pieces that have been bought at thrift stores and turned into gorgeous pieces!  I have always wanted to try it but haven't had the chance to get by the thrift store!  I was recently given 2 pieces of furniture that were my hubby's grandparents.  They are not really my style but we kept them for sentimental value.
This is a little accent table,  it is very country and I am a modern girl.  I was not really sure what to do to the table other than sanding and painting.  It helped though! So here it is.....

The 2nd piece of furniture was something I like to call the "Mini Dresser".  I have no idea what it is, so I had to come up with my own name.  It is a great little accent piece but again, not my style at all!

Again, very country!  I was able to do a little more with this one.  We did A LOT of sanding then 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of paint. I played it safe with black paint because it was my first redo so I didn't want to get too daring!  I was able to get new hardware to dress it up a bit.  I kind of went for craftsman style hardware.  I love this piece and it makes me want to do more! Tada....

Cake Bon Bons

This was a special request.  They are very time consuming but all worth it!  These are red velvet with cream cheese icing dipped in white chocolate, chocolate cake with chocolate icing dipped in chocolate & yellow cake with buttercream icing dipped in white chocolate.  They are great for bridal or baby showers or for gifts during the holidays!

My Little Ladybug!

A fondant disaster!  The original plan was to make the cake a giant ladybug but this was my first time working with fondant and it is harder than they make it look on TV.  So I sculpted a ladybug out of fondant instead.  It still turned out cute and very delicious but we had to go to plan B!  For my daughters smash cake, I used a large cupcake pan and made little baby ladybugs for decoration!

Ole'

Brittany turns 30!  It was a fiesta themed party and I had to make it a little girly!  Yellow cake with chocolate buttercream icing covered in fondant.

Bridal Bliss

I smell the beach!  Perfect for a beach themed bridal shower!  Devil's food chocolate cake with buttercream icing!

Cookie Cakes!

Just a few of the many cookie cakes!  They are a tradition in my hubby's family!  Every year I probably end up making around 8 of them!  Simple, easy, classic and delicious!

Anniversary Cake

This was my first!  I had baked a little but never attempted something like this before.  It turned out fabulous and tasted just as good as it looks!  It was my grandparents 60th Anniverary and they love strawberries. It was white cake with buttercream filling and sliced strawberries, topped with buttercream icing!  Mmm, oh so delicious!
